The Histoy of Heienlein Motosports:

Introduction To Online Racing:

Christopher Heinlein was first introduced to the world of online racing in 2004 with NASCAR 2005: Chase for the Cup.  While only participating in a dozen online races it was enough to push Christopher Heinlein to decide to establish an online racing team for him and his friends to race under one banner. Shortly after Heinlein Motorsports was born in the online racing world.

Establishment:

It wasn't until NASCAR 2006: Total Team Control was released that Heinlein Motorsports was fully established and participated in over fifty online races that year. Still only officially a single car team Christopher's friends participated in several races as substitutes for the #185 car.

From Single to Multiple Cars:

These substitute drivers eventually joined Heinlein Motorsports and had there own special cars within the team. By the time NASCAR 2007 came out Heinlein Motorsports was 7 drivers strong. It was decided however that there would only be 4 full time drivers at a time, just like real NASCAR teams, while the other drivers would be rotated through a fifth part time car. Later the team shortened its name to Heinlein Motors in games due to character restrictions.

Expanding the Team:

In 2009 Heinlein Motors began to expand to other racing games based on professional racing divisions. One of the most successful of these games was GRID, in which Heinlein Motors dominated the drift and LeMans online races. By 2010 Heinlein Motors had expanded into 9 other racing games, including F1 and Need For Speed: Shift and had become self sufficient financially.

Formation of Spectre Racing:

In late 2010 a sister team was formed to pursue an online presence in all other none professional racing style games. This
team was sponsored by Christopher's guitar company "Spectre Guitars" and was therefore named Spectre Racing. Starting in Need For Speed: Pro Street Spectre Racing quickly became extremely popular with Heinlein Motors other drivers and eventually eclipsed Heinlein Motors's presence in the online racing community. This caused the decision to have Spectre Racing join in the NASCAR game franchise in 2011 as a full time sister team to help train drivers for seats in Heinlein Motors cars. This also caused a big internal rivalry between Heinlein Motors and Spectre Racing in NASCAR games, with each team always trying to out race each other.

The End of Heinlein Motors:

In 2012 while Spectre Racing was beginning to flourish Heinlein Motors was having its most difficult time in its history. Drivers were slowly leaving to move on to other things, the team was hosting less and less races and was becoming more of a burden to maintain than the team was worth. In early 2013 Heinlein Motors had lost almost all of its drivers and was hosting only one race a month. The team eventually suspended all race teams except for the Grid game series where one driver casually raced until mid 2014 when he left the team completely.

Merger With Spectre Racing

In 2014 with Heinlein Motors's drivers gone and only having a presence in Grid games it was decided to merge Heinlein Motors and Spectre Racing. Keeping the name Spectre Racing the team now has a presence across several racing games and is  sponsored by several Heinlein Industries Subsidiaries.

Heinlein Motors Online Racing School:

In 2016 Heinlein Motors was revived as an online racing school and single car team to compete and train with Spectre Racing.

Presently:

Spectre Racing is currently focusing on marketing it's NASCAR race team division and its continued support of its "Race for the Cure" Breast Cancer fund raising races.
